There was a gas leak in my office building’s basement. Thankfully nobody was hurt, and I lucked into two WFH days were really nice. Now it’s back to reality – especially as we’re about to enter the last week of summer (kicking and screaming on my part).

My beau spent the weekend away on a golf trip and I had a fabulous time with just Finn. I had no plans on Friday night so I decided to treat myself to a dirty tini, tinned fish girl dinner, and a made-for-Netflix romcom. It was a great night.

We were lazy on Saturday morning, but by noon we were in the Bronx at the pool with Kathleen and her kids. We spent hours there before going back to her house, where her mom and sister joined. The kids played and we had some wine. We didn’t head home til 9pm. The day flew by, which, honestly, is not something I normally say when in full parenting mode.

I was never a sticker-on-the-laptop kinda gal, but after years of keeping my computers pristine (what was I saving it for?!), I decided to start accessorizing. As someone who always favors custom things, it’s almost surprising I never did this before. I think it’s because I didn’t want things to be “messy,” but now I realize it’s fun proclaiming my love for certain things (cheese, books, and the Dawgs).
